BU’s Center for Global Health Development, in cooperation with the College of Communication, School of Public Health and Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting will be hosting When Disaster Strikes: Reporting and Responding, a conference that will explore the collaboration and tension between public health workers and journalists in the aftermath of natural disasters. A range of experts from the field of global health, NGOs and journalism, as well as citizens and volunteers will be discussing their experiences and strategies that will allow journalists and public health workers to work together without interference. Post-earthquake Haiti and the recent disaster in Japan will be used as touchpoints for the discussions. The event will take place in the Photonics Center between 8 am and 5 pm.
